Sky Blue midfielder Sam Kerr continued her scoring streak last weekend and her Perth Glory side continued to climb the table in Australia’s Westfield W-League.
Kerr scored two goals on the road to lead Perth to a 4-1 victory over Adelaide United, 4-1. The win was Perth’s third straight and enabled the club to pull even with Canberra United atop of the W-League standings.
Kerr’s brace brings her season total to a league-leading five goals. Her first tally came in the 34th minute when she put her club on top, 1-0, by finishing a shot from 18 yards out. Her second goal of the match came in the 66th minute to make the score 3-1 in favor of Perth.
Sky Blue FC midfielder Nikki Stanton played virtually the entire contest for Perth as well, making the start and not being substituted until the third minute of second half stoppage time.
Currently the hottest side in the W-League, Perth is riding a league-best three-game winning streak and has now elevated itself to being level with Canberra United with a 4-1-1 record for 13 points.
