U.S. Soccer Unveils New Away Kit

Staff Writer

It’s Fashion Week in New York, but the Oregon based company Nike is grabbing all the headlines as they unveiled the United States Men’s and Women’s National Team new away jersey on Monday.

As first revealed by ESPN’s Darren Rovell Monday morning on Twitter, the United States is going with a bold blue kit when they hit the road in 2015.

A departure from the “bomb pop” style of the World Cup, US Soccer’s new road design features a gradient of blue throughout the shirt, capped off with white shoulders and a red accent at the crook of the neckline.  Dark blue shorts are accented with white race stripes down either leg, completing the look.

The USMNT will wear these jerseys when they take on Switzerland on March 25th. However, the kits will make their world debut next month as the USWNT will don them during next month’s Algarve Cup in Portugal.

Do you like these better than the 2014 World Cup uniforms? Where do these rank on the all-time US soccer jersey rankings?

Inspired by the French 1998 World Cup winners’ shirt perhaps?

I wish we had the stronger color Home like it is supposed to, not like LSU Football. I feel strongly that there has to be some kind of Red and Blue with a White USA USA USA All Day Every Day Motto. Also, if Womens Soccer and Womens Sports is going to be “The Bus”, couldn’t the Mens and Womens National Team do a Series of Home Friendlies in Iowa, because anchoring the Middle of the Country or Underprivileged Parts of the Country needs to happen, and to help pump up the Other Other Sides.
