New York Red Bull II end their three game season series with the Rochester Rhinos with yet another draw, this time 1-1, at Rhinos Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Rochester looked set to grab a win as an Asani Samuels goal broke the deadlock in the 58′ minute. However, Vincent Bezecourt equalized the game with a phenomenal free kick goal from outside the box in the 89th minute.

NYRB II have yet to beat Rochester in USL play but have taken points from all games played this season.

NYRB II pressed Rochester in the first half, but the Rhinos demonstrated resolute defending and countered when possible. Aside from Tim Schmoll ending a breakaway chance for Rochester in the 18 minute, both sides seemed to offer little offensively.

The game opened up a bit more in the second half. Asani Samuels’ 58th minute goal lit a fire under New York who pressed Rochester, drawing a significant number of fouls. The team seemed to inch closer to an equalizer with each chance, and in the 89th minute it was Vincent Bezecourt who equalized.

The draw gives NYRB II the record for most points garnered in a single season with 63. The record was previously held by Orlando City SC back in 2014 with 62 points. New York still has two games left to play and can add to that number. Next up New York Red Bull II will return home to play FC Montreal at Red Bull Arena on September 17th.
