Tale of the Tape: New York Red Bulls Host Montreal Impact

The New York Red Bulls are coming off of a dominant 4-1 home opening demolition of the Colorado Rapids. Taking on a depleted side, the Red Bulls owned the midfield battle and stood strong on defense behind the return of Wilman Conde and Rafa Marquez. Several underperforming players enjoyed a masterful resurgence in play, including Roy Miller and Dax McCarty.

Overall, the match served as a promising restart to a campaign that desperately needed one.

Today, they will take on the expansion Montreal Impact. Led by veteran Donovan Ricketts on the backline, the Impact have struggled for goals, managing a single score in three winless matches (0-2-1). Rookie coach Jesse Marsch will have his hands full as an inspired Red Bull squad looks to build upon their first victory of the season.
