U.S. Soccer head coach Bruce Arena has announced the players selected for this month’s United States Men’s National Team training camp in Carson, California — and it is heavy on the New York Red Bulls side.
Dax McCarty and Sacha Kljestan return to the National Team, joining keeper Luis Robles for the January camp. The entire 32-player roster contains players only from MLS, representing 15 different clubs. Notable inclusions are Swiss-born goalkeeper Stefan Frei and Gambian winger Kekuta Manneh. The FIFA window does not recognize this January camp, making it a domestically dominated roster.
Arena will get his first chance to coach the USMNT on January 29th against Serbia. The match will be broadcasted on ESPN2 and Univision with a kickoff time set for 1 p.m. ET.
