Some things are more important than a rivalry.

Facing their longtime enemies in DC United, the South Ward put rivalries aside to honor the victims of 9-11 with a tribute to those lost at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon 15 years ago.

And the South Ward was not done there. Red Bull fans observed a moment of silence at the 11 minute, followed by chants of USA.

The Red Bull organization also got in on the tributes, adorning their players with commemorative t-shirts for pregame training.

They also invited several 9-11 families and veterans to take part in the pregame festivities.

ESC also raised money to send 110 first responders/families to the game. That’s why the capo was rocking full firefighter’s gear the whole game. He wore the gear a minute for every ticket donated.

Lots of non ESC people donated.
