Liverpool look to replace the departed Luis Suarez with not one striker, but a few.

Loic Remy could be the next to make the jump to Anfield. Remy spent last season at Newcastle on loan from Queens Park Rangers. The French striker tallied 14 times in 26 Premier League appearances for the Magpies last campaign.

Remy was a member of the 2014 French squad that traveled to Brazil for the World Cup. He has scored five times in 24 international appearances for Les Bleus.

According to Sky Sports, Remy has a clause in his contract that allows him to talk to clubs competing in the Champions League if the required fee is met. Liverpool have agreed with QPR for £8.5million.

If the deal is finalized, Remy would be the fifth signing for the Reds. They have already inked Rickie LambertAdam LallanaEmre Can and Lazar Markovic.

Chelsea Sign Cole Replacement

Chelsea already raided Atletico Madrid for Diego Costa and now went back to Spain to find Ashley Cole‘s replacement. They signed left back Filipe Luis.

Chelsea and Atletico agreed a fee just under the Brazilian defender’s release clause. The fee was around £16 million, says the Daily Mail.

‘This move is a dream come true for me,” Luis said. ‘I now have the opportunity to play for Chelsea, and also in the Premier League.”

The 28-year-old defender just missed making the Brazilian World Cup squad and is tasked with filling the void left by Cole’s departure. The English left back, who missed out on the World Cup as well, spent eight seasons at Stamford Bridge, making well over 200 appearances.

“I’m going to give my best in all the games. You are never going to see Filipe walking on the field, always running,” Luis added.

“I will give my best and give a lot of work and effort. I hope we can bring trophies to the fans and they are going to be very happy with everybody.”

Transfer Chatter

1. Casillas wants Arsenal– Regarded as one of the best in the world for many years, Iker Casillas reputation has begun to erode. After being benched at Real Madrid and struggling at the World Cup, a change of scenery could be needed for the Spanish international keeper.  That place could just be with the Gunners. Casillas wants Real Madrid to allow him to leave on a free transfer to Emirates. Arsenal are also believed to have agreed a fee to bring Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina. If both were signed, a goalkeeper competition could ensue with Wojciech Szczesny as the current Arsenal shot-stopper. (From the Daily Mail)

2. Vlaar a possible Saint- The transfer saga continues on as Dejan Lovren looks to force a move to Liverpool. If that move does go through, Ron Vlaar could be a potential replacement. The current Aston Villa defender starred for the Netherlands in the heart of the defense in the third place winning squad. Any asking price for the defender would surely take a bump in price after his performances at the World Cup. Lovren is currently at Southampton for preseason training. (From Sky Sports)

3. Borini nears Black Cats switch– After spending the year on loan and scoring 10 times last season, Fabio Borini could be joining Sunderland on a permanent basis. Liverpool and Sunderland are believed to have agreed a fee for the Italian’s switch. (From Sky Sports)
