A vehicle carrying six of the Tulsa Roughnecks players to a preseason practice was involved in an accident requiring players to be hospitalized for minor injuries.

The incident took place on Wednesday morning with four of the six players requiring treatment at a local hospital. There was no word on the specifics of the injuries but the most severe appears to be midfielder Henri Manhebo who is being kept for further treatment. He is in stable condition. Athletic trainer Koby Smith is remaining with Manhebo in the hospital.

The team released a statement to the previous shortly after the incident:

“It’s been a very trying day for everyone involved in our organization. We are very fortunate and grateful that the accident was not worse than it was. We appreciate everyone’s concerns about the well-being of our players and ask that you keep Henri in your prayers. We hope to see him back on the field shortly.”

Roughnecks have been in Florida since last Friday for preseason training and rallied to earn a 3-3 draw against the Miami Fusion on Tuesday. On Sunday the team scored a 5-1 victory over Florida Gulf Coast University.
