The New York Cosmos are back at Shuart Stadium on Mothers’ Days, looking for their fourth win of the Spring Season against FC Edmonton.

After a busy week off the pitch, the Cosmos look forward to taking care of business and stay unbeaten on the year.

The task at hand should be manageable for Gio Savarese’s side who come into the match banged up in the back. Center back Roversio is expected to be available for the match, while right back Hunter Freeman is doubtful. It is important to note that Freeman did return to action early this week in a reserve match, where he scored twice. Freeman has been out for all of the spring season with plantar fasciitis.

Fans can expect a starting XI similar to ones used in recent weeks. The big topic of conversation is who will start up top this week. The spot is becoming Lucky Mkosana’s to lose after recent performances, including a first half goal last week against the Ottawa Fury.

FC Edmonton comes into this game with a bit of extra rest, as the squad’s midweek Canadian Championship semi-final with the Vancouver Whitecaps was rescheduled due to snow.

The Spring Season has been less than kind to Eddies as the squad has earned just five points in four games.

Meanwhile, the Cosmos are looking to extend their streak of 348 minutes without conceding a goal. The current record of 372 minutes was set by the green and white between 2013 and 2014.

The New York Cosmos will also be debuting their blue 3rd kit, when they take the field for this Mother’s Day matinee.

The match can be viewed on One World Sports, and is also available on 88.7 WHRU.

Kickoff is set for 2 pm.
