After yesterday’s false reports of a matchup against England, the US Soccer Federation announced today that the USWNT will take on Australia twice in September.

The USWNT faced Australia in their opening World Cup match, in which Megan Rapinoe‘s brace lifted the US to a 3-0 victory over Australia. The Matildas were later eliminated in the quarterfinals by Japan, the eventual finalists.

The first match will take place on September 17th at Ford Field, in Detroit, Michigan (7pm EST, Fox Sports 1). The second will be on September 20th, at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama (2:30pm EST, ESPN2). Ford Field has a capacity of 65,000, while Legion Field holds 71,000. Neither Detroit nor Birmingham was among the top ten TV markets for 2015 Women’s World Cup viewership, but the choice of venues could serve to bring increased interest in the sport to new locations as support for soccer continues to grow in the United States.

These two matches are part of a 10-game victory tour planned for the US Women’s National team. The first two games of this tour have already been announced- the US will take on Costa Rica on August 16th in Pittsburgh, PA at Heinz Field and again on August 19th in Chattanooga, TN at Finley Stadium.

Tickets for both matches go on sale Friday, July 31st on ussoccer.com.
