Poku was not in attendance for today’s New York City FC practice, causing head coach Patrick Vieira to address the media and comment on his rumored transfer situation.

“There are discussions going on between (NYCFC and Miami FC) and there is interest for the players to go there as well,” Vieira revealed. “So we just need to wait 24 hours to see what is going to happen.”

As reported by EoS, NYCFC midfielder Kwadwo Poku is on the verge of joining Miami FC for an estimated transfer fee of around $700k. While originally reported at $350k, multiple sources now tell EoS that Miami is prepared to increase the Ghanian midfielder’s salary five fold, with the 24-year-old set to make around $500k a year.

Vieira revealed that this transfer saga will be coming to a close within the next 24 hours. In addition, it seems more than likely that Poku will be on his way to Miami as Vieira hinted that the Ghanian was interested in the move.

The NYCFC manager was hesitant to discuss more on the matter, concluding that he will elaborate more on the sale once it has been finalized.

“If the deal happens and he is going to Miami, then yes, we can elaborate a little bit more and we can get into a little bit more details,” he said, “but until then, I think it’d be a little to0 early to talk about Poku.”
