This one should sound very familiar to New York Red Bulls fans.

Tim Cahill, wearing the captain’s armband for Australia, headed home an equalizer one minute after South Africa’s Ayanda Patosi scored the game opener. That first half sequence became the final score as the Socceroos struggled to break the Bafana defense throughout the second half.

The goal is Cahill’s 33rd in international play, padding his lead as Australia’s all-time leading scorer.

The draw serves as Australia’s official send-off as they leave Sydney for Brazil. Ange Postecoglou’s side will have one final international match on June 7th against Croatia in Salvador, Brazil; one of the tournament’s host cities.
