Yanks Abroad: Weekend Roundup

US logoWith the international break over, players returned to their club sides.

From Mexico to Germany, here is how American players performed abroad.

Chrisitan Pulisic (Dortmund)

Pulisic played the full 90 in a 0-0 stalemate against Freiburg. Dortmund remains on top of the Bundesliga after weekend games.

 

Fabian Johnson (Mönchengladbach)

Gladbach lost, 1-0, to Frankfurt on Saturday. Johnson remained on the susbstitute’s bench.

Timmy Chandler (Frankfurt)

Frankfurt won its first game of the Bundesliga season against Mönchengladbach with Chandler playing the entire match as a right midfielder.

Bobby Wood (Hamburg)

Wood was unable to help Hamburg’s offense as it lost to Leipzig, 2-0.

Geoff Cameron (Stoke City)

Cameron played 45 minutes in Stoke’s 2-2 draw against Manchester United. With the draw, Stoke is in 12th place in the Premier League.

William Yarbrough (León)

León earned a victory against Queretaroon  Saturday night after an 80th-minute goal by Mauro Boselli. Yarbrough was unable to record a shut out, but his efforts helped León win, 2-1.

Matt Miazga (Vitesse)

Miazga played well in his first start of the season, helping Vitesse glide past Excelsior, 3-0.

Joe Corona and Michael Orozco (Tijuana)

Tijuana continues to rise up the table after defeating Pumas, 2-0. Corona played 83 minutes and Orozco played the full 90.

Tim Ream (Fulham)

Fulham returned to its deadlocking ways in a 1-1 draw with Cardiff. The Cottagers have drawn four of their first six matches of the season. Ream played the full match at center back.

Jorge Villafaña (Santos)

Villafaña helped Santos pocket a point in a 0-0 draw against Toluca.
