Yanks Abroad: Weekend Roundup

US logoWith DeAndre Yedlin returning from injury and Danny Williams earning his first Premier League start, there was a lot to take away from the Yanks Abroad weekend lineup.

From Mexico to Germany, here is how the United States’ players outside the country did over the weekend.

Christian Pulisic (Dortmund)

Pulisic played 24 minutes off the bench in Dortmund’s overwhelming, 5-0, win against Cologne. With the victory, Dortmund kept its top spot in the Bundesliga.

DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle)

After missing the first four matches of the Premier League season because of injury, Yedlin made his first appearance of the season in Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Stoke City. The victory extended Newcastle’s win streak to three games, which put it in fourth place.

Timmy Chandler (Frankfurt)

Chandler was unable to make an impact in Frankfurt’s loss to Augsburg. He played the full 90 as a right midfielder.

Omar Gonzalez (Pachuca)

Pachuca has suffered a rough start to the season. It is 13th in Liga MX and has conceded the most goals. That trend continued over the weekend as Pachuca and Gonzalez gave up three goals in a 3-1 loss against Club Leon.

Danny Williams (Huddersfield)

Williams was handed his first starting nod for Huddersfield in its game against Leicester City. Williams played the entire match as a defensive midfielder. The contest ended in a 1-1 draw.

William Yarbough (Club Leon)

Yarbough was unable to maintain a shut out t in his side’s 3-1 win against Gonzalez’s Pachuca.

Matt Miazga (Vitesse)

Miazga and Vitesse played to a 1-1 draw against Venlo, leaving Vitesse in fifth place.

Alfredo Morales (Ingolstadt)

Morales came off the bench in Ingolstadt’s persuasive 4-0 victory against St. Pauli. After previously playing as a right back, Morales spent his time on the field as an attacking midfielder.

Ethan Horvath (Club Brugge)

Horvath collected his third shut out of the season in Brugge’s 2-0 victory against Mechelen. Brugge remains in first place in the Jupiler League table.

Julian Green (Furth)

Green played the entire 90 in Furth’s 3-1 win against Düsseldorf.
